Tea & Magic Hand used to sell Earl Grey tea and Jasmine Green tea that were re-roasted or included an added Bergamot fragrance, which altered the appearance and physical properties of the tea. Through these processes the country of origin of the tea can be labeled as “Taiwan”.

Knowing that this is contrary to the public’s general perception, Tea & Magic Hand labels the actual country origin of the tea to help consumers distinguish it from the so-called “country of origin”; this probably explains the great amount of imported tea in Taiwan’s market that can’t be seen, as reported by the media.

It is our goal to make healthy drinks and present authentic Taiwanese black tea to our customers. We have been investing in local made black tea projects for years, including Taiwan’s first largest black tea factory, and 20 imported professional large-scale tea rolling machines, and the perfect tea making equipment and quantity is the highest in Taiwan.

After years of technical improvements and innovative development, Tea & Magic Hand finally made a breakthrough. In 2017, Taiwan’s first original tea “Taiwan Dianhong” made of “Sijichun” Oolong Tea was successfully created. On July 1st of the same year, “Taiwan Dianhong” was officially launched in our stores to replace “Earl Grey Black Tea”.

From fresh leaves to tea leaves to the beverage, the “Taiwan Dianhong” is grown, produced and processed completely in Taiwan. It is a pure MIT black tea!

Instead of the Bergamot fragrance in Earl Grey, the exclusive floral, fruity aroma of “Taiwan Dianhong” is comparable to the finest teas, which is definitely worthy of your subtle appreciation.

To ensure the quality of the “tea and other ingredients”, we conduct strict process controls and management from the soil, tea type, growing, harvesting, processing, packaging, delivery to beverage making. What’s more, every year Tea & Magic Hand invests millions of dollars in SGS inspection fees for each batch of tea. This ensures our product is in compliance with national food safety standards, with no flavor additives or any other additives.

With the consistency of the process and our own production lines, the operational costs are controlled and the savings are passed back to our customers. At Tea & Magic Hand, you can have a good cup of Taiwanese Tea with a fair price!

We are the only company in Taiwan with its own tea plantations located in Hengshan, Mingjian town, Nantou, at the southern point of the Bagua Mountains. The contracted tea growing area is around 510,000 pings or about 170 hectares.

In addition, Tea & Magic Hand has two tea factories in Mingjian, Nantou, which include the Shizitoushan Tea Factory that covers 1800 pings or about 5950 square meters in area, and the Mingshan Tea Factory that covers 900 pings or about 2975 square meters in area. The two factories yield about 1.7 million Taiwanese jin or about 1,020 tons of tea every year.

Since the establishment of Tea & Magic Hand, we have been using pure Taiwan tea for our Qing tea and Oolong tea selections! In the past few years, Tea & Magic Hand has invested heavily in time-consuming research and development. Since July 2017, the company has successfully improved and created an exclusive novel high-end technology to produce our own black tea “Taiwan Dianhong” and green tea “Taiwan Green Tea”. Completely self-own production has replaced the imported black tea and green tea leaves, making our tea selection 100% made in Taiwan.

Therefore, our tea ingredients have all been upgraded to “100% Taiwan tea”, including “Taiwan Dianhong”, “Taiwan Green Tea”, “Taiwan Qing” and “Taiwan Oolong”.

 

For the sweetness of the drinks, you can choose from “Normal”, “Less Sugar”, “Little Sugar”, or “No Sugar”.

However, in order to present drinks at its best taste, there is a unique level of sugar and ice added to each cup. We adjust each cup to the most suitable ratio depending on the drink we are making.

Therefore, if you wish to add less sugar in your drink, simply inform our staff of your request, we would love to meet your needs!

In fact, each hand-shaken beverage shop has their own definition to the ratio of ice to beverage, and everyone has different preferences for amount of ice as well.

As for the amount of ice for the beverage, we do offer five choices, and they are “Normal Amount”, “Less Ice”, “Little Ice”, “No Ice (occasionally some ice chips)”, “Room Temperature”. Take “Less Ice” for example, the ice is filled up to 80% of the cup; while for “No Ice”, there is no ice or just a small quantity of ice chips; for Room Temperature, there is no ice at all, and the drink is slightly chilled or at the temperature of drinking water.

However, in order to present drinks at its best taste, there is a unique level of sugar and ice added to each cup. We adjust to the most suitable ratio depending on the drink we are making. At every Tea & Magic Hand shop, you can request the amount of ice for your order. So if you wish to add less or more ice in your drink, simply inform our staff of your request, we would love to meet your needs!
